The COVID-19 vaccine, which is expected to arrive early next year, will be voluntary and free for all citizens, Health Minister Venko Filipche said Friday.
He noted that the purchase price per vaccine dose, according to initial documents received through the COVAX mechanism, is USD 10.
According to Filipche, the arrival of the vaccines through the COVAX mechanism is expected early next year, probably in the first two to three months.
As regards storage, the Health Minister pointed out that storage of vaccines in the country has long been with the economic operators that import them. They take on the responsibility of distribution to vaccination sites and, according to Filipche, this is the most logical and practical system. The system would now only include the requirement for ultra-cold storage at -70C.
