COVID-19 pandemic: 614 new SARS-CoV-2 cases, 10 deaths, 132 reinfections

Of the 1,804 SARS-CoV-2 tests done in North Macedonia’s laboratories over the past 72 hours, 614 came back positive for the airborne virus. Of them, 132 were confirmed reinfections, transmits news agency MIA.

And ten deaths have been added to the country’s official COVID-19 death toll, which has reached 9,450, health authorities said Monday. According to the Ministry of Health citing Institute of Public Health data, there are now 3,025 active SARS-CoV-2 cases nationwide, of which 1,119 in Skopje.

Of the 614 new SARS-CoV-2 cases recorded over the past 72 hours, 266 were diagnosed in Skopje.

New infections were also reported in in Bitola –51, Kavadarci – 43, Prilep – 31, Ohrid – 29, Kumanovo – 21, Gevgelija – 18, Gostivar and Kochani – 16 each, Struga – 13, Tetovo – 12, Shtip – 11, Radovish – 10, Veles, Kichevo and Kriva Palanka – 9 each, Delchevo – 6, Vinica and Pehchevo – 5 each, Strumica, Resen, Berovo, Debar and Kratovo – 4 each, Negotino, Krushevo and Demir Hisar – 3 each, Demir Kapija – 2, Sveti Nikole, Valandovo and Bogdanci – one new case of SARS-CoV-2 in each town.

Officially, 1,014 people recovered from their acute infection. Ten people died from SARS-CoV-2 in the past 72 hours. Two people died from the virus in Ohrid (aged 70 and 88). Two people died from the virus in Kumanovo (aged 73 and 83). One person died from the virus in Skopje (aged 82).

One person died from the virus in Veles (aged 80). One person died from the virus in Gostivar (aged 81). One person died from the virus in Strumica (aged 82). One person died from the virus in Probishtip (aged 76). One person died from the virus in Shtip (aged 85).

All of them died in hospital. Since the start of the pandemic, 9,450 people have died in North Macedonia from SARS-CoV-2. The country’s laboratories have performed a total of 2,143,260 coronavirus tests, officially logging 338,120 COVID-19 cases and declaring 325,645 recoveries.
