Of the 972 SARS-CoV-2 tests done in North Macedonia’s laboratories over the past 24 hours, 313 came back positive for the airborne virus. Of them, 79 were confirmed reinfections, transmits MIA.
And seven deaths have been added to the country’s official COVID-19 death toll, which has now reached 9,468, health authorities said Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Health citing Institute of Public Health data, there are now 2,418 active SARS-CoV-2 cases nationwide, of which 1,043 in Skopje. Officially, 364 people recovered from their acute infection. Two people (aged 85 and 83) died from SARS-CoV-2 in Skopje in the past 24 hours.
They died in hospital. Five other people were added to the coronavirus death toll after their deaths were logged by health authorities between Aug. 6 and 23, 2022. They were from Skopje (aged 88), Bitola (aged 84), Valandovo (aged 71), Kratovo (aged 68) and Ohrid (aged 73).
Three of them died at home and two in hospital. Since the start of the pandemic, 9,468 people have died in North Macedonia from SARS-CoV-2.
The country’s laboratories have performed a total of 2,146,647 coronavirus tests, officially logging 339,240 COVID-19 cases and declaring 327,354 recoveries.
