The Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with the support from the Health Ministry of North Macedonia, has prepared a small ward intended for patients for post-COVID rehabilitation, informed the ministry. They explained that this is due to the long-term lingering consequences of the coronavirus infection and the growing need for rehabilitation of recovering COVID-19 patients.
The Health Ministry announced that so far, the Institute has had only individual requests from patients that were treated in day clinics. But from recently, this public health institution, in cooperation with the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and the Skopje City hospital “8th of September”, has started with an organized hospital rehabilitation for patients who have recovered from COVID-19 and together with infectious diseases specialists from the clinic and the hospital, the Institute is already implementing examinations by consulting body of specialist physical therapists.
