Of the new cases, 184 were diagnosed in Skopje. New cases were also recorded in Kumanovo – 31, Shtip – 23, Veles – 19, Bitola – 17, Kavadarci – 13, Sveti Nikole and Kriva Palanka – 12 each, Prilep and Gevgelija – 11 each, Kochani – 10, Strumica – 9, Kratovo – 7, Tetovo, Ohrid and Struga – 6 each, Vinica – 5, Demir Hisar – 4, Gostivar, Negotino, Radovish and Makedonska Kamenica – 3 each, Delchevo and Probishtip – 2 each, Kichevo, Resen, Debar and Valandovo – 1 each.
In the past 24 hours, 387 people recovered from the virus and 12 people died from coronavirus-related complications. Six died in Skopje (aged 63, 71, 72, 75, 81 and 85), two died in Bitola (aged 63 and 80) and one person died in Shtip (aged 69), Kratovo (aged 71), Strumica (aged 57) and Ohrid (aged 55). All of them died in hospital.
Additionally, six deaths between Sept. 8 and Oct. 3 were reported as covid-related, health authorities say. They were people aged 59 to 89 from Skopje, Tetovo, and Strumica. Of them, four died in hospital, and two died at home.
At the moment, 10,819 cases are active nationwide, of which 5,217 in Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,308,188 tests, recording 193,458 covid-19 cases and 175,881 recoveries. The death toll has reached 6,758.
