An accident which has taken more human lives took place in Tetovo. Up until this moment, ten casualties have been confirmed, but the numbers could increase. This is a very sad day, I offer my deepest condolences to the families” wrote Minister Venko Filipche on Twitter.

-The doctors are fighting for the lives of the injured, let us wish them luck and keep our fellow citizens in our thoughts tonight. I appeal to the media and citizens not to speculate with the numbers. All confirmed information will be shared on time, wrote Filipche.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the fire that broke out in the Covid Center in Tetovo, wished a speedy recovery to the injured, and announced a quick determination of the causes of the fire, for which, as he wrote on Facebook, the judicial authorities are already working on the ground.

-An immense tragedy happened in the Tetovo COVID-19 Center. An explosion caused a fire. The fire has been extinguished, but so have the lives of many people. The fight for life still remains, and all of the services have responded with sacrifice and are saving people. I offer my deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. The causes of the fire will be determined, for which the judicial authorities are already on the ground. This is a truly tragic event and I can assure you that the entire state leadership is dedicated to a quick resolution of this situation. The crisis headquarters in the Municipality of Tetovo is currently underway, Zaev wrote on Facebook.

Three prosecutors from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Tetovo and two prosecutors from the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office are included in the inspection of the modular hospital in Tetovo, where the fire broke in the tonight.

The fire broke out yesterday around 9.00 pm. More than 30 firefighters intervened with seven vehicles, after which it was fully extinguished.

– The teams arrived on the spot in three or four minutes with about seven vehicles and more than 30 firefighters participated from both sides. When the teams arrived, everything was on fire. The Mayor of Tetovo, Teuta Arifi, tonight in a statement for the media pointed out that they will wait for official information on the number of victims and on the entire course of the investigation. No statements will be given until then.
