CIVIL – Center for Freedom in cooperation with the US Embassy in Skopje, organized a working meeting in the Municipality of Cair as well, dedicated to the fight against radicalism and violent extremism.
Residents of various profiles of the municipality, professors, workers, activists and parents participated at the meeting, who conveyed their views on the situation in the municipality to the US expert on combating violent extremism and building peace, Paul Turner.
During the meeting, Turner outlines the need for preventing such cases in society, stressing the key role of the communities in the fight against violent extremism.
“This is the work of the police. Unfortunately, the work of the police begins when the damage has already been made”, said Turner.
Participants, through everyday examples, in the context of the areas they deal with, shared their efforts for improving the situation and maintaining peace.
The event is within the framework of the project “Communities Against Violent Extremism”, which is supported by the US Embassy in Skopje.
