The Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions has reacted to the information announced on TV 24 that an accident with electricity due to leakage in the roof was avoided in the modular hospital within the Clinic.
“The modular hospital next to the Clinic for Infectious Diseases has been closed due to safety reasons – leaking of the roof from the rains last week. According to information to which TV24 came to, the water had penetrated to the lights, and due to danger of an accident, the facility was emptied and closed. Both the Infectious Diseases Clinic and the Ministry of Health have confirmed the information that last week the modular hospital was closed, where there were around 20 patients”, reported 24TV.
The Clinic for Infectious Diseases says that there was no accident in the modular hospital, because there was neither any flood in the hospital, nor water in contact with electricity. A small quantity of water drops had appeared in one place, as they added, but at no point came into contact with electricity.
“The modular hospital, which is a supplementary infectious ward of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions, has opened and closed three times since it was put into operation, according to the needs for treatment of patients. At one point, vaccination of health workers was also performed in the modular hospital”, informed the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions.
A total of 87 patients are hospitalized at the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions. The capacity of the Clinic is 100 hospital beds, and 70 hospital beds of the modular hospital that is a supplementary infectious ward. The Infectious Diseases Clinic puts the modular hospital into use when the capacity of the Clinic and other covid hospitals in the city is full. Recently, the sufficient number of vacancies enabled for the modular hospital to close. The modular hospital currently is being disinfected and standard procedures for its maintenance are being performed.
Due to the decline in the number of hospitalized patients recently, other covid centers within the Clinic, as well as throughout the country, have also been closed, as resources and health workers need to be rationally used.
The Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions calls on the media to refrain from sensationalist headlines and texts that unnecessarily raise panic and cause fear among citizens.
