CIVIL’s third report: Over 230 reports from the ground, cases of limited voting rights and party pressures

At CIVIL’s third, one before the last online press conference, the following reports from the ground were presented:

At polling station IM 2972, Primary School “26 July”, Shuto Orizari – a person who had been released for the weekend from the Shuto Orizari prison was found during the fingerprint check, but was not on the Voters Register. The Election Board did not allow him to vote.

The same thing happened to him in the first round, but at that time he was allowed to vote, and the case was recorded in the record book. After he was not allowed to vote this time, he, according to CIVIL’s observer, stated that he did not want to cause any trouble so as not to end up back in prison.

This also happened with several other people who had been released from prison for the weekend, the Election Board did not allow them to vote.

Throughout the day, CIVIL’s analytical team received more than 230 messages and reports from the ground, of which at least one-third have been processed and verified. The number of citizens reporting irregularities is constantly increasing.

During election day, CIVIL’s analytical team received reports in several categories, among which the following stand out:

 

  • Violation of the secrecy of the vote
  • Pressure and violation of the election silence
  • Allegations of vote-buying
  • Deceased persons in the Voters Register
  • Inaccessible polling stations
  • Improper operation by the election administration

The selection made by CIVIL’s team for this press conference includes the following reports:

Polling Station 1192, in the Retirement Home in Krushevo, is inaccessible. Citizens have difficulties exercising their right to vote because there are more than 10 stairs to the entrance to the polling station.

Also, in Kumanovo, at two polling stations, polling station 1043 and 1073, party observers are taking notes with pens with party symbols – keeping track of who has come to vote and who has not.

In Kicevo, in front of the Arabella restaurant, a party office has been opened, where there is significant movement of people. There is also increased police presence noted in Kicevo.

At Polling Station 1021, Workers University “Professor Mijalković” in Kumanovo, – the Election Board told our observer that they had not been notified that she could observe — they only had a list of the parties. They made a phone call and took a photo of her authorization in order to ask. After completing the check, they allowed her to observe.
