CIVIL’s observers in Mavrovo and Rostushe, Centar Zhupa and Tetovo report a peaceful election day, without incidents. They assessed that the first part of the day passed quietly, with a lower turnout, while voters mainly exercised their voting right during the second half of the day.
“The day was tense, but passed in a positive atmosphere” – wrote one of the observers in CIVIL’s internal communication.
CIVIL’s observers were not accredited for visiting the polling stations, but rather conducted monitoring of the situation on the ground.
The organization received a dozen calls and messages from citizens, mainly reporting violation of the election silence with party propaganda and hate speech on the social networks, but didn’t report any election irregularities or incidents.
CIVIL congratulates all citizens of the municipalities in which the local elections were held, as well as all participants in the election race for the successful election day.
