CIVIL is organizing the workshop “The Civic Charter – How will I benefit?” today, March 9, 2018, at the conference room of the Committee, Kumanovo, starting at 2.00 pm.
The workshop is dedicated to the possibilities for cross-sectoral cooperation and partnerships between civil society, local and central government, the media, business communities and the political parties in the sphere of citizen participation in the decision-making processes at the local and national level. This workshop is a preparation for the conference dedicated to the Civic Charter, which is planned for March 28. Activities relating to the Civic Charter have already been supported by Mayor Maksim Dimitrievski, as well as by the municipal council, several media and civil society organizations from Kumanovo. Participation of their representatives at the workshop is expected.
“The Civic Charter – How will I benefit?” is a pilot project through which CIVIL will continue to promote the Civic Charter in a different way. Possibilities for establishing cross-sectoral cooperation and partnerships for adoption and consistent implementation of the Civic Charter will be explored with the project.
The project has the goal of familiarizing civil society stakeholders, local and central government, the media, business communities and political parties with the content of the Civic Charter, and discuss about the adoption and use of this document, as well as about the possibilities for joint cooperation and partnership.
The Civic Charter will be promoted also through info stands and surveys with citizens in Skopje and in Kumanovo. CIVIL has translated this document in most of the languages that are spoken in Republic of Macedonia, and has submitted these materials to all the international organization that are leading this global initiative. Part of these multi-lingual materials of CIVIL have already been published on several websites around the world. The project is supported by the International Civil Society Centre.
