CIVIL is organizing a panel discussion on “Equality, Non-Discrimination and Multiculturalism in North Macedonia: Situations, Challenges and Perspectives” on May 18 (tomorrow) at the Park Residence Hotel (behind the city stadium) in Skopje, starting at 1 p.m.
The panel is part of the project “European Perspectives” which CIVIL is implementing with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany from April 1 this year.
What are the conditions and trends in Northern Macedonia in terms of protection against discrimination? What challenges do institutions, communities, the media and society as a whole face in the field of interethnic relations and protection against discrimination? What are the perspectives of our society in terms of promoting European values, and in that sense promoting equality and multiculturalism, as well as protection against discrimination in our country? These are some of the questions that we will try to answer together with you at this public event.
Participants in the panel will be Eran Kurti,, director of the Agency for Exercising Community Rights, Mersiha Smailovi, activist, , Ashmet Elezovski, director of the National Roma Centrum, and Djeljo Hodjikj from the ACRR. The event will be moderated by Diana Tahiri – CIVIL.
In accordance with Covid-19 protection protocols, the panel will be held without an audience, and we will allow panelists to attend physically and online. The event will last 60 minutes.
The event will be broadcast live on the video channel and the Facebook page of CIVIL, and the contents that will emerge from the event will be published on CIVIL MEDIA, the media platform of the organization, in Macedonian, Albanian and English. Television crews are welcome, requesting strict adherence to Covid-19 protection protocols.
