On the occasion of marking Universal Children’s Day, CIVIL once again alerts about the difficult situation of the children’s rights in Macedonia, and is demanding from the institutions in the country to seriously engage with urgent measures for improving the situation. A large number of children do not have access to quality education, health care and living conditions.
We remind that every child, without any exception, has the right to a dignified life and to enjoying all the rights provided in the Declaration on the Rights of the Child, which has been adopted exactly on this day. Children must enjoy the special protection provided through laws and other means.
The state and the institutions have an obligation to provide children with physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development, a healthy and normal way of life in conditions of freedom and dignity!
CIVIL has been continuously alarming, for twenty years now, about the abuse of children for political and religious purposes, and is demanding from the institutions to sanction all those that involve children and the youth in their dirty games.
CIVIL demands: STOP the political and religious abuse and indoctrination of children! We must not allow the development of children to be contaminated with daily-political party and religious antagonism and mobilization.
We expect for the institutions to take decisive sanctions against all those who will try to put children and minors on their list of activities. This simply has to stop immediately!
The education system is distraught and by far does not provide children with a normal development. The state and the institutions must immediately provide access to quality education for every child in Macedonia!
