CIVIL – Center for Freedom demands that phones be immediately handed back to protesters who were detained for 24 hours on May 5. The phones were taken away from the protesters after their release, with the argument that they would be needed for further investigation. The phones of the detained were seized without a warrant and that represents a violation of the law.
CIVIL also demands for release of the students from the Student Plenum, which has been charged with the criminal offence – participating in a crowd obstructing official persons in performing official duties.
CIVIL, as a supporter of the civil initiative “Protestiram” (meaning “I protest”), has been continuously protesting since May 5, also for the covering up of the murder of Martin Neshkovski, for police brutality and for the detained protesters that protested in front of the Government on May 5.
