CIVIL invites its members, supporters and all interested citizens to apply for short-term election observers. The deadline for applying is September 30, no later than 5.00 pm.
Shortly after the selection of observers, training seminars for the observers will be held at the beginning of October.
Training is mandatory for all selected observers, regardless of whether they have been observers of CIVIL in previous election cycles. The training seminars, as well as the very observation of the election process, will be conducted with maximum compliance to the measures for protection against Covid-19. It would be nice for all observers of CIVIL to be vaccinated.
The agreements for the assignment, along with CIVIL’s Charter of Observers, will be signed at the training seminars.
In response to the most frequently asked questions from interested persons, the Organization emphasizes that all CIVIL observers are mobile, that is, each observer has an obligation to cover in average of ten polling stations.
CIVIL’s monitoring implies mobility, dedication and impartiality. Short-term observers are active during the election silence, on election day and one day after the voting.
Members or teams of international or domestic observation missions, party officials or activists involved in the election campaign, as well as candidates running in the elections, do not have the right to participate in this call.
CIVIL is implementing the monitoring of the elections as part of the projects “European perspectives, next level”, financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as “Civic Lenses”, financed by National Endowment for Democracy of the United States.
