CIVIL is organizing a workshop titled “Green Future”, dedicated to green value, social justice and antinationalism, which will be held on September 12, in the Veles Municipal Hall, starting at 1.00 pm.
Republic of North Macedonia needs comprehensive, civic, political and institutional action for promotion, education and practicing green values, which is an integral part of the global trends in politics, the economy and education and civic organization in the widest sense of the word. Green values certainly also mean care for natural resources and require transformation from consumer to sustainable society, with new concepts of economy, especially of energy.
An important part of green values are human rights and freedoms, equality and inclusiveness. In that context, and especially in the context of the Western Balkan countries, green values are indivisible and certainly also imply within their framework social justice and antinationalism as a precondition for development of a free and democratic society and building a sustainable society.
CIVIL is organizing a workshop titled “Green Future”, dedicated to green values, social justice and antinationalism, which will be held on September 12, in the Veles Municipal Hall, starting at 1.00 pm.
CIVIL’s workshop is an opportunity for all socially active citizens, regardless of where they come from, whether they are part of the non-governmental sector, or part of a party, to express their opinions and proposals.
CIVIL is already implementing activities for establishing an informal civic initiative related to topics relevant to the project, which will be yet another opportunity for discussion and start of a new, or strengthening of the existing, cooperation between various stakeholders and decision-making structures at the local and national level.
The agenda of the two-hour event anticipates 15 minutes at the very beginning for statements for the media, and sessions beginning immediately afterwards, where video and audio recording is not allowed. Following the presentation of the “Green Future” project and the connection between European and green values, social and environmental justice, a discussion will also be opened on the topics: “Green values at the local and central level: situation, challenges and perspectives” and “Citizen participation in the social processes for support of democratic reforms, green alternatives and antinationalism”.
Green Future is a project for supporting advocacy and strengthening public awareness on green values, social justice and antinationalism, which is implemented in partnership with the Heinrich Bǒll Foundation from Germany, Office in Sarajevo.
