“Behind the Smoke Screens” is a project for media and civic action to counter disinformation and propaganda, implemented by Civil – Center for Freedom. The project is focusing on foreign, anti-Western propaganda through monitoring, analysis and exposure of disinformation and propaganda on critical issues, such as the aggression against Ukraine, Euro Atlantic integration and other processes of crucial importance for the country.
Country’s critical processes and issues are targeted by long-term propaganda by the same mutually connected centers. They have a common goal – undermining rule of law, democracy, stability and the country’s Euro Atlantic orientation. Therefore, Civil will take a comprehensive and all-encompassing string of activities to counter these tendencies.
The project activities include a specific combination of news production, analysis and opinion making, fact-checking, debunking and exposure of disinformation and propaganda.
Furthermore, the project includes daily publishing of relevant news, analysis and opinion articles, weekly online events and presentations, cooperation with relevant CSOs, direct communication with citizens, cooperation with local media and other stakeholders.
