H.E. Dr. Christine D. Althauser, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany will give an opening speech at the promotion of the publication “Elections 2016: Final Report of the long-term observation of the political process and early parliamentary elections in Republic of Macedonia”, published by CIVIL – Center for Freedom. The promotion will be held tomorrow, Thursday, February 2, in Hotel Park Residence (behind the football stadium), starting at 12:30h.
The authors, many experts that have been guests at events organized by CIVIL in recent period, the media, representatives of the international community and political parties have all responded to CIVIL’s invitation for tomorrow. The invitation is open and the entrance is free – as always. A cocktail reception will follow after the presentation.
In this shocking report, details of the monitoring of the election process and of the political situation in Republic of Macedonia during the entire year of 2016 are revealed in 200 pages. The entire project team of CIVIL and the team of experts composed of Dr. Saso Ordanoski, Aleksandar Novakoski, Sandra Gavrilovska, Dragan Zelic (GONG, Croatia), Heather Roberson Gaston (United States) all took part in the preparation of this report.
Xhabir Deralla, Sinisa Stankovic, Petrit Saracini, Monika Taleska, Goran Naumovski, Biljana Jordanovska, Dehran Muratov, Maja Ivanovska, Ermin Klimenta and many other members of CIVIL’s project team, through their reports, analyses and reviews present the reality of Macedonia, the facts as they are, with no cover ups or hesitation.
As a document, this publication will also serve as a significant recommendation and source of information for civil society, political parties and the international community within the framework of efforts for creating conditions for free elections in the future as well.
This event concludes the project FORWARD!, supported by German funds of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, which was implemented in the period January 1, 2016 – January 31, 2017. The project FORWARD! provided long-term monitoring of the political process and of the early parliamentary elections in Republic of Macedonia.
