CIVIL continuously alerts the public, the institutions, political parties and the media about the abuse of children for political purposes and demands from the institutions to sanction all those who involve children in politics in any way.
CIVIL’s Monitoring Team has concluded a large number of cases of abuse of children and minors, both in the election context and in spreading ethnic and religious hatred, but also in spreading Russian malicious propaganda.
Political abuse of children is prohibited by law!
Article 12, paragraph 4 of the Law on Child Protection stipulates:
“Abuse of children for political or religious organization and action is prohibited”.
CIVIL demands from political parties, parents, the media and institutions to free children and minors from their political ambitions – hence, violating the law and all ethnic norms.
Every child, without exception, has the right to a dignified life and to enjoying all the rights stipulated in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and in the Law on Child Protection. Children have the right to a carefree childhood, free from daily political events and propaganda operations.
Children must not be allowed to be victims of politics and foreign malicious propaganda operations! Political parties and their supporters must contribute to protection of children, and not to their abuse.
The state and the institutions have an obligation to enable children to have physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development, a healthy and normal way of life in conditions of freedom and dignity.
The state, parents, parties and the media have an obligation to protect children from propaganda!
CIVIL demands from the institutions to take decisive sanctions against all those who will try to put children and minors on their list of propaganda activities. It simply has to stop, now!
