Health Minister Venko Filipche received two donations on Tuesday. The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China donated Mden 2.3 million for medical equipment, while the Red Cross Society of China donated USD 100,000 in support of the fight against COVID-19. Filipche said that a batch of Sinovac vaccines will also arrive by the end of this month.
“Let me also mention the Army’s donation of 100,000 Sinopharm vaccines, which have already been distributed in line with needs and vaccination appointments. In the coming period, by the end of this month, a large batch of Sinovac vaccines will also arrive. Thus, a total of 400,000 citizens will have received Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines. This makes for a serious percentage of the total population, and is important for achieving herd immunity,” Filipche told Tuesday’s press conference.
The Health Minister extended deep gratitude to Ambassador Zhang Zuo and the people of China for being the country’s biggest supporters in managing the COVID-19 crisis.
