Each year we face high risks from injuries and fatal incidents, as a consequence from celebratory firing during the New Year and Christmas festivities. Improper use of fire-crackers is also widespread, though with smaller aftereffects. Moreover, trauma and harassment are always present, regardless of actual physical consequence.
We appeal to all citizens to make a contribution to prevention from use of weapons and inappropriate use of fireworks in the days of festivities.
Talk to your neighbors and particularly to the children and point out the possible tragic consequences from celebratory firing and other forms of risky behavior.
As a civil society organization we are active in this field since the end of 2001. Civil coordinates its actions and participates to the global initiatives of the International Action Network on Small Arms (www.iansa.org) since 2002.
