The primary goal of both the Ministry of Education and the government is to make quality education accessible to every child. By implementing practical activities and changes not only in programmes but also in the infrastructure we show that are our efforts are not only declarative, said the Minister of Education and Science Mila Carovska during the visit to the inclusive playground in Negotino on Friday.
“In order to have quality and accessible education, we need to have quality and inclusive programmes on the one hand, but on the other hand we need to improve the infrastructure capacities, as well as the quality of the teaching staff and its training,” Carovska said.
With the reform processes, Carovska added, which are supported by the international community, as well as by civil society organizations, I believe that we will achieve the goal of quality and inclusive education in a period of five to six years.
“We believe that the new concept for primary education relies on inclusiveness as one of the main pillars and therefore we invest intensively in the area of infrastructure so that we can achieve the goals together, make quality education accessible to every child,” Carovska said.
British Ambassador Rachel Galloway said that the United Kingdom is committed to supporting education for all, i.e., that all children have the right to be included in the education system.
“The future of a society depends on all of us, all different people, of diverse backgrounds, and I look forward to taking these steps towards the future together,” Galloway said.
The first inclusive playground at ‘Goce Delchev’ school in Negotino is part of the project “Be IN, be INclusive, be INcluded” which is implemented by “Step by Step” Foundation with the support of the Embassy of the United Kingdom.
