More than 14,000 students have registered for the high-school final exam, which shows that they want to take the final exam, Education Minister Mila Carovska told a press conference on Wednesday, adding that the Ministry and the Government have a legal obligation to organize it, so as to protect the legally guaranteed right of students to take the exam.
Carovska pointed out that there are less and less students joining the boycott of classes, and urged parents, teachers and schools to pay attention to those students pressured to join the boycott.
The high-school final exam, she noted, is optional, and those students who won’t take it also have the option of school graduation exam and vocational graduation exam.
Asked about high-school graduates who are under pressure by the teachers, Carovska said they were probably pointing to the legal obligations they need to comply with as schools, and according to her, this is in terms of records of class attendance.
“There’s no pressure, but it’s important to point to all elements of laws and regulations in education,” the Education Minister underlined.
According to her, the social pressure on students who refuse to join the boycott is significant.
