Opportunities for promoting cooperation in all areas, and especially in the fight against organized and cross-border crime were in the focus of today’s meeting of Public Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia Ljubomir Joveski with Ivan Geshev, Chief Prosecutor of Republic of Bulgaria.
The working visit of the Bulgarian Chief Prosecutor in Skopje is realized at the invitation of Joveski. Sijka Mileva, Public Prosecutor in the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Republic of Bulgaria is also in the delegation led by Geshev.
– Joveski and Geshev, at the meeting, looked over the possibilities and needs for a possible amendment to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two prosecutor’s offices concluded in 2015, and also discussed about the directions for further cooperation. At the same time, they exchanged experience and spoke about the legal norms in the two countries that refer to the handling of cases against serious and organized crime, is said in the statement of the Basic Prosecutor’s Office.
Within the framework of the two-day working visit to the country, the delegation of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria met with Minister of Justice Bojan Maricic, as well as with the Basic Public Prosecutor of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, Vilma Ruskovska.
