Bulgaria will provide expert support to North Macedonia in the preparation of legislation in the area of labor and health and safety at work in line with the requirements of the European Union. In this way Bulgaria will support the EU path of North Macedonia and the social policy, announced the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of Bulgaria after the meeting in Sofia of Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Social Affairs Galeb Donev and his Macedonian counterpart Jagoda Shahpaska.
As MIA correspondant from Sofia reported, the exchange of experience in the preparation of regulations will be part of the program for cooperation in the field of employment and social policy for the period 2022-2024, which will be prepared by the two neighboring countries.
During the discussion, Minister Donev presented the anti-crisis measures of the Bulgarian Government for support of employment, business and families, and as he informed, Bulgaria currently has the lowest unemployment rate of 4,8 percent.
Donev and Shahpaska exchanged experience on measures for promoting employment of youth and economically inactive people, projects for subsidizing jobs and lowering unemployment, as well as for creating conditions for constructive dialogue with representative organizations of employers and unions.
They expressed hope that Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia will continue the cooperation in the field of work migration by signing an agreement for its regulation with the purpose to provide easier access to the labor market for the citizens of the two countries.
Minister of Social Policy of North Macedonia Jagoda Shahpaska is paying a visit to Sofia to participate in the International conference for demographic sustainability, where Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations and Director of the United Nations Population Fund Natalia Kanem is also participating. /MIA
