It is too early to talk about the price of electricity, because first it should be clarified who and how much can produce electricity in the country, so that the pressure is not constant on ESM, said the chairman of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission (ERC). , Marko Bislimovski.
– ESM should have a price at which it will cover its costs and based on that it should plan its production, and “EVN Home” the procurement. If the costs for the companies for procurement of electricity are too high, then ERC will consider the option of reducing or completely abolishing the profits of the energy companies it regulates, in order to avoid price shocks, said Bislimovski in a guest appearance on Telma TV.
He said that the methodology for calculating ERC prices, which is the same as in the EU, guarantees profits, and if energy companies do not follow the decisions of the Commission, they are responsible for the losses.
– That is their problem. The methodology itself envisages giving a profit, that profit for 2022 may be completely or partially abolished, in order not to cause price shocks to consumers, added Bislimovski.
According to him, each supplier has its own strategy – some provide electricity in advance, some take risks and wait later in the hope that the price will be more favorable – and the regulator can not interfere in their business decision.
– In terms of security of electricity supply, none of the consumers was left without electricity, all were taken over by the supplier as a last resort, said Bislimovski.
