Tourism has produced the expected results. The season was a success because of the government measures and policies that were created together with the private sector, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi told an event dedicated to World Tourism Day on Monday.
Minister Bekteshi said tourism vouchers have stimulated domestic tourists, whereas the safety stamp significantly contributed to the arrival of foreign guests.
He said digitization and promotion of the country as an attractive destination would be among the priorities in the tourism field.
“Tourism was one of the most affected sectors in global terms. The Government supported the sector through specific measures and activities. According to our indicators, the expected results have been achieved and measures produced visible results. The number of tourists in period January-July increased by 56.6 percent compared to 2020,” noted Bekteshi.
This year’s World Tourism Day theme is “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”. / MIA
