Bekteshi: Serbia agreement to result in cheaper gas procurement
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

If we sign an agreement with Serbia, the gas price will be 3-4 times lower than the market one, says Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi, transmits news agency MIA.

“The negotiations are nearly completed and expert teams are working on a solution, namely we provide electricity to Serbia and they provide gas in return. Prices will be much lower than ones on the stock market, 3-4 times lower. In return, we will supply Serbia with electricity at decent prices,” Minister Bekteshi told Telma TV.

According to him, the Government is negotiating with “Serbia Gas” not “Gazprom”. “I don’t need to read Serbia’s agreement with Gazprom, it is a commercial secret anyway.

It is our obligation to meet Serbia’s electricity requirement and the Serbian government is obligated to supply North Macedonia with natural gas,” says Bekteshi.
