Construction of the gas interconnector with Greece will begin at the onset of next year, says Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi and adds the project is worth EUR 28,9 million.
“Today, the Parliament passed the law on North Macedonia guarantees over liabilities arising from the Financial Agreement of project “Interconnector for natural gas transmission Greece-North Macedonia, North Macedonia section”, concluded between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and state-owned company National Energy Resources (NER)-Skopje, worth EUR 28,9 million,” Minister Bekteshi says in a Facebook post.
Bekteshi adds the interconnector will strengthen the country’s competitiveness in the natural gas sector, leading to more favorable energy prices for citizens and businesses.
