Government spokesman Dushko Arsovski reiterated on Wednesday the Government’s position regarding the escape of the ex-secret police chief Sasho Mijalkov, saying that the institutions have taken all necessary measures to apprehend him and that he is already placed under house arrest. He stressed that the Government will not tolerate actions that undermine trust in the system.
“The institutions have taken all necessary measures regarding Mijalkov’s escape. He reported to the Prosecutor’s Office for organized crime and is placed under house arrest. The coordination of activities among all institutions over the past two days yielded results. The justice has been secured. This is most important and PM Zoran Zaev late Tuesday explained the details related to this case,” Arsovski told today’s press briefing.
He failed to answer whether the Government has information about Mijalkov’s whereabouts, but only added that once the Government has any new information will present it to the public.
“Once we have new information, we will present it to the public,” he said.
Arsovski refused to speak about the comments posted on social media related to Mijalkov’s escape.
