The Cabinet of the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Danela Arsovska, has not replied to questions from journalists as to who were the donors for the New Year’s celebration on the city square. There is no reply neither to the journalist question about how much the installation and maintenance of the public portable toilettes at several locations in the city will cost the people of Skopje.
The editorial office of Civilmedia, this afternoon, at the indicated address of the Mayor’s Cabinet, addressed questions on these topics through the email address for contacting Arsovska’s Cabinet provided on the website of the City of Skopje, and also by phone in a direct conversation with the Cabinet official.
“Who are the donor companies for the New Year’s celebration on the city square in Skopje? Has the City of Skopje concluded an agreement for cooperation in an appropriate procedure with these donors, can these documents be made available to the editorial office and the public overall? Was there a tender announced for the installation of public toilettes in the city, when was that procedure conducted, is there documentation for this and can the public receive the documents for that public procurement?”, are the questions addressed to Arsovska’s Cabinet.
Additionally, Civilmedia asked by email and phone the cabinet official in the City of Skopje also about how much the installation of the public toilets and their maintenance will cost the citizens, daily, monthly or annually, depending on the type of agreement that has been made.
No answers were sent to Civilmedia to the end of the working hours, even though it concerns data that does not require much time to find and make available to the public.
Civilmedia will continue to look for the answers through other legal mechanisms for transparency of the institutions.
