Civil.Today continues to publish the regular operational updates issued by the General Directorate of Military Cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The today’s report is on events on the ground, effective on 06:00 on March 23, 2022. The statement is as follows:
The twenty-eighth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion has already started. The Ukrainian defense forces groupings continue conducting a defense operation in the Eastern, Southeastern and Northeastern directions.
In the Eastern direction, the operational troops groupings operate in Donetsk, Slobozhanskyi and the eastern part of Tavriya operational districts. They do not allow the enemy to resume the offensive actions in the direction of Slovyansk (Donetsk region) and towards the settlement of Lozova (Kharkiv region). They restrain also the advance of the enemy in the direction of Zaporizhzhia.
The Joint Forces grouping is deterring the advance of the enemy in direction of the cites of Popasna (Luhansk region) and Kurakhove (Donetsk region). Also it carries out the circular defense of Mariupol` (Donetsk reggion).
In the Northeastern direction, the defense operation continues in the defined operational area. The main efforts are focused on covering the state border, deterring the enemy`s offensive actions in the area of the settlement of Malyn (Zhytomyr region).
In Siverskyi region, the Ukrainian troops grouping holds the defense of Chernihiv and deters the advance of the enemy in the direction of Kyiv.
In the Southeastern direction, the defense operation is being carried out, the ground operations of the Ukrainian troops as well as separate units are being supported, the bases and seaports in the Black Sea operational area are being defended. The defense of the city of Mykolayiv and the settlements of Mykolayiv region continues.
Our defenders are deterring the enemy in the directions of the cities of Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) and Novovorontsovka (Kherson region), conducting a stabilization operation and performing territorial defense tasks.
The active actions of enemy avaiation and launching of missile strikes have been detected in the last 24 hours.
The Air Force grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulses targeted missile and air strikes as well as air assault of the enemy, performs air cover of the important objects of Ukraine and troops groupings. Over the past 24 hours, more than 17 enemy air targets have been shot down, including 6 aircraft, 5 UAVs, 1 helicopter and 5 cruise missiles.
On the territory of the Russian Federation, the covert mobilization continues in order to replenish the losses of the personnel of the occupying troops groupings operating in the war on the territory of Ukraine. The military commissariats are trying to attract former servicemen to serve and conclude relevant contracts, the preference is given to those who already have combat experience.
On the territory of the Republic of Belarus, the representatives of opposition forces and concerned citizens who condemn the assistance of the current illegitimate government to the Russian Federation in the war with Ukraine, partially destroyed the railway connection between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine. The information is being clarified.
At the same time, according to the available information, the active movement of the Russian and Belarusian military hardware and its further accumulation along the Ukrainian border continues on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
The enemy is demoralized in separate areas. Thus, during the assault of the city of Mariupol` (Donetsk region), in one of the special forces units engaged in the active hostilities, less than 10% of the personnel are ready to continue the war, the rest of the personnel are killed, wounded, sick or demoralized.
