Armed Forces of Ukraine report: Russians launch missiles on Kyiv, continue attacks on civilian targets across the frontlines, spread disinformation to justify destruction

Today, June 5, at about 6 am, the Russians launched five winged missiles X-22 from the Caspian Sea towards Kiev. The air defense unit of the Air Force of Ukraine destroyed one missile.

The rest hit infrastructure facilities in the capital of Ukraine. According to preliminary information, there are no victims reported. The fires are localized.

According to the situation update of June 4, 2022 (6 am EET), the 101st day of the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, heavy fighting continue in the Donbas region. Russian occupation forces continue launching missile and air strikes on military and civilian infrastructure in all sectors of the front. Here are the latest detailed reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Siverskyy direction, Russians shelled the settlements of Starikove and Katerynivka, Sumy Oblast, and Kamianska Sloboda, Chernihiv Oblast.

In the Slobozhanskyy direction, the aggressors continue concentrating reserves in an attempt to continue offensive operations in the directions of the settlements of Izyum, Barvinkove and Sloviansk.

In the Donetsk direction, the agressors are trying to cut defenders’ logistics system. Fighting continues for the establishment of full control over the city of Sievierodonetsk. The enemy fired four missiles from the Tochka-U tactical missile system in the areas of Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka and Lysychansk. In addition, the invaders launched airstrikes on the cities of Slaviansk and Soledar.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy used artillery near Sviatogorsk, Starodubivka and Mykolaivka. The situation is apparently extremely difficult in the Sievierodonetsk direction, where the Russian aggressor has launched missiles strikes and shelled the settlements of Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Ustynivka, and Toshkivka.

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, airstrikes with Ka-52 helicopters near Girske, Yakovlivka and Myrna Dolyna, and Su-25 warplanes near the town of Ustynivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy used mortars, artillery and rocket-propelled grenade launchers in the areas of Toretsk, New York, Vrubivka, and Pokrovske. Russians conducted airstrikes with Ka-52 helicopters near Berestov and Klinov.

In the area of the city of Donetsk, aggressors shelled the settlements of Mykilske, Krasnohorivka, Vesele and Novoselivka. They also used weapons of Su-25 warplanes in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Marinka. Rocket and air strikes wreaked on the village of Kurakhove.

In the Novopavlisk and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russians used rocket-propelled grenade systems in the areas of Hulyaipole Orikhiv, and Zaliznyi Hai. They also conducted an air strike by Su-25 on the village of Kamianske.

The General Staff also warns of the disinformation spread by Russians.

“We urge you to trust information only from verified sources and not to spread Russian fakes and disinformation” – General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine appealed.

According to the report, Russians claim that Ukrainian defense forces are in schools, hospitals and churches in order to justify destruction of civilian targets.
