A case of a patient infected with omicron has been confirmed in Struga, the new strain of Covid-19 informs the MIA epidemiologist from the Center for Public Health Jovanka Strulakova-Koroveshoska.
This is an asymptomatic case in an elderly patient, vaccinated with two doses of “Pfizer”.
– The person is currently in isolation. He took a PCR test a week ago for a trip abroad. During the screening, it turned out to be positive for Kovid – 19, and today we received confirmation that it is a new strain omicron, said Dr. Strulakova-Korovesoska.
According to the questionnaire, she pointed out that the patient did not know where he got infected from, and he mentioned the members of the immediate family as contacts.
The first case of a patient infected with the omicron strain in the country was registered last week, to a traveler who came from Great Britain.
