The anniversary of the establishment and start of the new Government is in today’s focus, on the occasion of which Prime Minister Zoran Zaev held a press conference in front of the Monument to fallen fighters, in the Government’s courtyard.
In addition to informing on what has been done so far, Zaev also stated that there is no agreement for the name, but rather that ministers Dimitrov and Kotzias have agreed on the principles of the agreement. A conversation will follow between Zaev and Tsipras, and the Prime Minister said that he expects for them to make a step that will be very significant.
Today the 20th anniversary of the Ombudsman’s Office was celebrated, in the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, and a panel discussion was held on the topic “The institution of Ombudsman in Republic of Macedonia: beginnings, progress and challenges”.
The panel discussion was opened by the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, the President of the Government of Republic of Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, the Ombudsman, Ixhet Memeti, the President of the Association of
Ombudsman of the Mediterranean and the Ombudsman of Republic of Albania, Erinda Ballanca, while the European Ombudsman, Emily O’Reily will congratulate the jubilee trough a video call. Bojana Urumova will make an address on behalf of the Commissioner for Human Rights.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Radmila Sekerinska will be awarded the French National Order of Merit. Sekerinska will receive the award by Genevieve Darrieussecq, Secretary of State to the Minister of the Armed Forces of France, tomorrow night at a reception at the Residence of the French Ambassador in Skopje.
New court hearings in the cases “Total” and “Transporter” of the Special Prosecutor’s Office were held today in the Criminal Court in Skopje.
Journalist Dragan Pavlovic-Latas is accused in the case “Total”, for tax evasion in the amount of 121,414 euros through the legal entities “Total Marketing Ltd”, “Total Media Center” and Mediamax and 63,032 through he himself. This hearing was postponed today upon the request of the defense.
CIVIL today will promote three books with more than 350 columns, on a total of 1,000 pages at the City Hall Center (next to the Youth Cultural Center) on Wednesday, May 30, starting at 8.30pm.
“In the waiting room of freedom” by Saso Ordanoski, on 440 pages, “Burst” by Xhabir Deralla and “Injustice and unrest” from twenty authors of CIVIL with about 280 pages, will all eternalize a difficult and uncertain period for Macedonia. There will be many different views in one place in regards to all relevant topics, events and processes for which the citizens of the country are concerned about. What is common for all three books is that they are published on a free and independent media space that is rare, which CIVIL created with the project “Free media for a free society”.
