DUI believes that any changes to the Law on Government and cancellation of the so-called Przhino government should be made in agreement among the major political parties. The party says that there is an agreement in principle for cancellation of the technical government, but the proposal should come after a consensus is reached for such a solution. There is time for such a consensus because there will be no early parliamentary elections until the regular ones in 2024, MIA informs.
The proposal, as explained by Arber Ademi from DUI, was received today in coordination with the President of the Assembly Talat Xhaferi.
– That Draft-Law is being contemplated by us as a party. It is good to reach a consensus considering the established practice for adopting such important legal solutions from before and this Law that is being amended and reached with consensus. That practice should be followed. Although there is an agreement to abolish the Przhino government, the technical government, given that it is not logical for a NATO member and aspirant country to start formal negotiations with the EU to have a technical government to conduct elections due to lack of trust in the institutions. So we think that such draft-law should be reached with consensus. We have time ahead of us to analyze the best solutions on this issue, and possibly other issues that should be further regulated in the Law on Government, said Ademi.
We don’t have anything against it, says Ademi and adds that DUI has an agreement with both SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE to abolish the technical or Przhino government.
– You know that such solutions have always been followed by negotiations, discussions between political parties and therefore it is not good to propose unilaterally. That is why we say that based on the agreement reached between DUI and the two largest political parties in the Macedonian bloc, of course, it needs consensus between the political parties to reach into specific legal provisions, added Ademi.
