„Thank you very much for inviting me and for giving me the opportunity to address you all on the occasion of the launch event of the publication ‘Free Elections 2017: Report, Analysis and Recommendations’“, said the deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy, Mr. Marco Acquaticci on the public promotion of the Civil’s final report for the Local Elections 2017.
„Allow me to say that this is not the first CIVIL-project which is being financially supported by the German government.
For example with your project “Free Elections for Free Citizen” you already managed to contribute to changes in the perception of various aspects of electoral processes and on public awareness on elections and voting rights.
Our German constitution, the Basic Law, says: “All state authority is derived from the people. It shall be exercised by the people through elections and other votes …”. Elections are not a state or a government affair.
Let me underline that Germany will always be a reliable partner of the Macedonian people on its way towards European integration and access to NATO.
It is for this reason that we will continue to support everyone who acts on behalf of those who constitute the origin of all power: the Macedonian people.
I would like to thank CIVIL and you personally for the tireless work and all efforts to strengthen democracy and freedom“.
