No early elections, Government reshuffle follows
There will be no early parliamentary elections, there will be a reshuffle of the Government. These are the decisions that were made yesterday after the Central Board of the party was held in Ohrid. In addition to these decisions at yesterday’s Central Board, the new Executive Board was elected, which will manage the party structure. The President of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, highlighted that in the next period there will be another session of the Central Board, where the new vice-presidents will be appointed.
“We elected 16 members of the Executive Board, of which nine women. We wanted to send a message on using the equal capacity of women and men, set in in the political and social system of the country. I believe the message will also reach many state, municipal institutions, but also political parties”, said Zaev.

Mogherini and Gerberich called on a positive decision for the negotiations with North Macedonia
Federica Mogherini this morning from Luxemburg congratulated the anniversary of the Prespa Agreement, and called on the member states to make a positive decision on the negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania.
“Today marks one year from the signing of the Prespa Agreement between North Macedonia and Greece, and I think that we should recall on the power of the courage and leadership, and the important steps made on the Balkans. I hope that the member states will remember and will acknowledge these steps, especially in the following days when an important decision needs to be made on the opening of the negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia, a decision that needs to be made as soon as possible”, stated the Chief of the European diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, before the start of the EU Council for Foreign Affairs in Luxemburg, which she chairs.
Mogherini will start today’s meeting with a few words about the Prespa Agreement and will send similar messages to the ministers of the EU member states this morning.
With the same position is German Ambassador Thomas Norber Gerberich, who yesterday, a day before the anniversary of the signing of the Agreement, together with the French Ambassador, planted trees in Prespa, in sign of friendship between the two countries.
The Agreement, according to German Ambassador Gerberich, has a historical dimension, because a dispute was solved in a peaceful manner, just as France and Germany established peace and became friends, although 100 years ago they fought against each other on the battlefield.
“The Republic of North Macedonia should receive a date for negotiations. In the previous two years, the state and the Government did everything that was needed. I think that North Macedonia will receive a date for the start of the negotiations”, stated Gerberich.
According to him, it would be best for Macedonia and Albania to join the European Union together, but if needed, separation should be considered so that one country is not punished for the other country’s non-fulfilment.
“I think that the best idea would be for them to join the European Union together. It is very important for the Western Balkans as a region to have a joint package, but if necessary, we need to consider separating the countries in order not to punish one country because of the other country’s failure to fulfil. It is, however, a process that the member states need to consider”, added Gerberich.
According to Gerberich, the Prespa Agreement is very important for the entire region, and in regards to whether there will be a political crisis if the country does not receive a date for negotiations, he thinks that Prime Minister Zoran Zaev will not resign, assessing that in these past two years he has done a good job.
