In the midst of significant political events in our society, CIVIL is continuing with the project Action – Integration, dedicated to democratic reforms, citizen participation, green initiatives and European values in Republic of Macedonia. The meetings and public events that are being organized with this project are a unique opportunity for all concerned structures and citizens to actively get involved in this significant initiative.
Following the meetings and workshops in Stip, Veles and Skopje, several events will be held under the slogan “What kind of Macedonia do I want?” in Kumanovo, Gostivar and in settlements and municipalities in those regions. The main public event in Kumanovo will be held in the Municipal hall of the Committee, tomorrow, August 23, starting at 1.00 pm. CIVIL is inviting representatives of the local authorities, NGO’s, political parties, local media and correspondents and all interested citizens to participate in the discussion on current topics and events, on social and environmental justice and on other important topics covered with this project.
There will be discussions on what kind of Macedonia the citizens of Gostivar want, at a public event in the hall of the Council of the Municipality of Gostivar, on Friday, August 24, starting at 12.00 pm. The Mayor of Kumanovo, Maksim Dimitrievski, and the Mayor of Gostivar, Arben Taravari expressed their support for the two events.
CIVIL is implementing the project Action – Integration in partnership with the Heinrich Bὅll Foundation from Germany. At the meetings that will be held in Gostivar and Kumanovo, participants will have the opportunity to exchange opinions, views and information on the significant social and political issues, freely and without restrictions.
Parallel to the events in the municipal buildings in the two municipalities, video surveys will also be carried out among the citizens on the streets of these two cities, as well as in several other places in those regions. At the same time, CIVIL’s team will also open information stands at the same locations, where they will inform citizens about the project, and will talk with them about the various ways of citizen participation in the decision-making at the local and national level.
CIVIL’s team will be available for individual meetings and talks also after the events are completed in Kumanovo and Gostivar.
