We are opening a new phase in the development of the media platform of CIVIL which in the coming period will become even bigger and even more influential. Therefore, in this Editorial, I would like to remind all supporters and members of CIVIL as an organization, as well as all participants in the activities of our organization, that our media space is open to anyone who wants to contribute.
It can be a report of a case of violation of human rights and freedoms, corruption, disinformation and hate speech, election irregularities. Also, welcome is anyone who wants to post an opinion, analysis or comment on a particular topic, especially if it is in line with our programmatic and organizational commitments. Our Coordination Team and the Editorial Board are available to all interested to take the opportunity to contribute to policy making in our society.
In one of my articles published on the CIVIL organizational website in 2011, entitled Year of Revolutions: The Brave Will Stay Online, I could only state the following:
The world is changing loudly. Millions of people around the world took to the streets to demand human rights and freedoms. They do not complain about their time, jobs and social status. In many countries around the world we have seen many young people who were not afraid for their health or even life. Human rights and freedoms were their ultimate goal and they did not hesitate to take to the streets. (The text can also be downloaded at this link).
At the beginning of the third decade of the third millennium of the new era, we see that world is changing even faster, even louder and with even greater risks to the human species and its ways of organizing in societies around the world. Our country is also going through strong transformations, it is making progress, but it is facing countless challenges. We are called to participate in those transformational processes all together, with criticism, analysis and solutions.
The CIVIL media platform is a space that shortly after its establishment in 2009 became an important source of information, news, analysis, reports, policy documents, comments and views. It is characterized by a series of specifics that the public recognizes as new, different and close to the citizens, free from the race for commercial success, socially responsible. This is a space to promote, nurture and promote European and green values.
With the views, comments and analyzes placed in the section FREE ZONE, the Organization makes a significant contribution to creating public opinion and strengthening public awareness of key socio-political phenomena and processes in the country and in the world. It is this section of the media platform that best corresponds to the slogan FREE-INDEPENDENT-OPEN, because in it you will find very different, often and sharply opposed views of Authors with different social, political or academic profiles.
With more than 2,500 columns, comments and analyzes per year, the CIVIL media platform is a space where everyone who participates in creating content has the opportunity to influence the creation of policies and practices in our country.
In addition to many famous names, the media platform of CIVIL gives space to young Authors, who bring new energy, new thoughts and attitudes.
We all have a great responsibility, the team of CIVIL and the Editorial Board CIVIL MEDIA, as well as all Authors. We work day and night for the public interest, we give our best to contribute to the important topics in society, to the processes and events of key importance for the development of democracy, freedom, justice and human rights.
