Freedom Caravan, a USAID-funded project, implemented by CIVIL – Center for Freedom, which leverages art and culture to catalyze civic awareness and citizen participation, will start its activities on July 17, 2016 at the 2016 D-Festival held in Dojran, Macedonia.
Opening events, starting at 8:00 PM, include a performance by hip-hop author Orange Groove; a poetry reading by Kosta Karev; and poems about freedom by Biljana Jordanovska, a Freedom Caravan Art Crew member and activist for CIVIL, and Xhabir Deralla will present a 60-minute multimedia presentation highlighting videos produced by citizen journalists on themes of social justice and activism.
Beginning at midnight, CIVIL will screen additional videos from citizen journalists and host an open dialogue with the audience.
