„What crucial now is to maintain the transatlantic connection as strongly as possible. I am quite confident in France, for example, but when we look at what’s happening in Romania or in the Czech Republic, we see many Europeans, when it comes to defending Ukraine, prefer instead to speak about ‘peace through gas.’ They imagine peace can be achieved through a deal between Russia and the United States — and that’s a huge risk for Europe“, pointed Jean-Yves Leconte, former member of the Senate, France, at the Westminster Alliance for Ukraine Event.
„As for the coalition of the willing, it should not wait any longer to act. If this coalition is serious, it needs to increase its support for Ukraine today — more financial support, more ammunition — and not wait for a ceasefire. The coalition must act now if it truly wants to be a coalition of winners“, said Laconte.
