Concluding Remarks at the Westminster Alliance for Ukraine Event
Thank you very much.
I’m a former Defence Minister of the United Kingdom, and I am both amazed and impressed by the way Ukraine has managed to hold off one of the world’s superpowers for three years—on a defense budget that is just a small fraction of the UK’s.
Ukraine is fighting a battle on behalf of the rest of the developed world. Alongside that, it is confronting war crimes and propaganda of the most pernicious kind—drone warfare, cyber attacks, strikes on electricity and infrastructure. What we are witnessing is the way war will look in the future.
There are so many lessons we must learn from Ukraine. But above all, we are grateful—grateful to Ukraine for standing in our place.
And we hope that we can continue to work together in the coming years.
