Monitoring North Macedonia’s Elections: CIVIL to Host 8 Press Conferences on Election Day

The second round of the presidential and parliamentary elections in the Republic of North Macedonia is scheduled for tomorrow. Polling stations will open at 7 am and remain open until 7 pm. Voting will be conducted across 3,480 polling stations nationwide, with voter identification facilitated by fingerprint devices.

In the second round of the presidential elections, 1,814,317 eligible voters will cast their votes. For the parliamentary elections, 1,815,350 voters have the right to participate and vote.

CIVIL – Center for Freedom will monitor both the second round of the presidential elections and the parliamentary elections. They will conduct a total of eight (8) press conferences, alternating between Macedonian and Albanian languages, with four conferences in each language. These press conferences will occur at 30-minute intervals and will report on the findings gathered from monitoring the election process nationwide.

Below is the schedule of CIVIL – Center for Freedom’s press conferences on Election Day:

In Macedonian:

  • 10:30 AM: First press conference with organizational recommendations.
  • 2:00 PM: Second press conference presenting findings from CIVIL’s monitoring.
  • 6:00 PM: Third press conference presenting findings from CIVIL’s monitoring until 5:30 PM.
  • 8:30 PM: Fourth press conference presenting findings from CIVIL’s monitoring until 7:00 PM, including a preliminary assessment of Election Day.

In Albanian:

  • 11:00 AM: First press conference with organizational recommendations.
  • 2:30 PM: Second press conference presenting findings from CIVIL’s monitoring.
  • 6:30 PM: Third press conference presenting findings from CIVIL’s monitoring until 5:30 PM.
  • 9:00 PM: Fourth press conference presenting findings from CIVIL’s monitoring until 7:00 PM, including a preliminary assessment of Election Day.

CIVIL’s Press Center will remain open throughout Election Day for media presence. If urgent information arises from the field, there will be additional addresses. Both in-person and virtual participation by media representatives is encouraged. The press conferences will be live-streamed on CIVIL’s Facebook page and YouTube video channel.
