COLUMN

Epoka e Re: Bitter memories from March 25, 1999

“On the morning of March 25, Serb forces entered the village of Belacerke in Rahovec and killed around seventy residents of the village, all civilians. Among those killed was also the father of Edibe, Hisni Zhuniqi, and then the uncles of Sedat and Irfan, cousins and sons of the uncles, altogether about forty of her relatives, of around seventy who had been killed in that village and at the same place. For the tragedy to be even bigger, once the bodies of some of them had not been found, among which also Hisni, Sedat and Irfan, the great pain of their loss kept multiplying by not knowing where their bodies were”, an excerpt of the column “Bitter memories from March 25, 1999”, by author Milazim Krasniqi, published in the Kosovo media outlet Epoka e Re.
