I expect that in the months of October and November, all processes for all textbooks for primary and secondary education will be completed in the national Commission as well as in the printing process, said Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri.
“The problem with textbooks is not only from this school year. In the previous school year, we started with a new concept for primary education and with new curricula. That concept last year was only for first and fourth grade. In the first grade, we had materials that were produced the previous year by the Education Development Bureau, and for the fourth grade, we had printed and digital materials. When I started serving as a minister, citizens demanded that printed textbooks be returned to the process. I supported digitization, but I also said that we will return the printed textbooks, and for that to happen, it was necessary to establish a national Commission that should consider the Law on Textbooks. The commission already has approved textbooks, we are finishing the process of appeals for economic operators, and after closing this process and approving textbooks, I expect in the months of October and November, all processes for all textbooks will be completed in the national Commission, but also in the printing process”, Minister Shaqiri pointed out and added that the problem of textbooks is not only for primary education, but also for secondary education.
Minister Shaqiri, during his visit to the Rectorate at UKLO-Bitola, announced the establishment of a Council that will deal with textbook issues.
“I think that will create a Council for this issue as possible. This isue must finally be solved for the entire primary and secondary education. With the establishment of the Council, all activities will be coordinated because everything does not depend on the MES, but also on other institutions”, pointed out Minister Shaqiri.
