The second part of Skopje Pride Weekend will be organized at several locations from the 15th to the 17th of September

The second part of the program of the jubilee Skopje Pride Weekend will be organized from the 15th to the 17th of September, at the Youth Cultural Center – MKC, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Stanica 26 Club, informed the organizers.

The basic curatorial theme of this year’s edition of the festival for queer culture, art, and theory, which goal is to create a space for presenting and promoting various forms called ecstatic bodies. The topic treats the relations, emotions, identity positions, body styles, and sensibilities marked by hetero-normative, nationalistic, and neoliberal capitalist contexts, as queer, eccentric, and unsuccessful.

The festival’s program starts on the 15th of September at MKC, with the performance/dance “Ethics” by choreographer Matthieu Hocquemiller and performed by Patrice Desmons and Pierre Emö.

On the 16th of September, at the Museum of Modern Arts, starting from 20:00h, the audience can attend the Austrian artist Julishka Stengele’s “No for Oscar” performance where this artist is making an effort to cover each inch of her body with kiss marks and is surrounded by an audience that is witnessing the failure, the improbabilities, victories, and the advancement.

The festival will end on the 17th of September in the Stanica 26 nightclub with voguing and drag party, and tw DJ sets by Ivana Dragshic and Markiza de Sada from Belgrade. Also, the dancers Hoedy Saad and Celine from Beirut and the drag queens Tokyo de Ville and Divon Jane from Skopje will also take part in the show.

The festival is organized by the Margini and LGBTI Support Center, and is carried out in partnership with Lokomotia, MSU, TIIIIT! and KSP-Jadro, supported by the Ministry of Culture of NRM, Heinrich Böll Stiftung Foundation, the US Embassy in North Macedonia, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, The Embassy of France, the Open Society Foundation and Sigrid.

This year the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary.
