Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj met Wednesday with Michael Roth, Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs, discussing the next stage of the Euro-integration process and the importance of an uninterrupted screening process, transmits MIA.
Deputy PM Marichikj briefed MP Roth on the steps that the country has undertaken upon the acceptance of the French proposal and the coming constitutional revision, the Secretariat for European Affairs said in a press release. Marichikj and Roth agreed that the process of constitutional revision required all political stakeholders to stand behind the state interest, for the purpose of unhindered negotiations process.
The Deputy PM also informed the German MP on the preparations for the screening that is set to begin on September 15 and the revised negotiating structure that will be adopted next week.
Roth said North Macedonia has made enormous efforts in meeting the European criteria and set the foundation for the negotiations, whereas Germany would provide the necessary support for speeding up the reforms and harmonizing EU standards, ultimately leading to the country’s EU membership, reads the press release.
