The moment the budget revision is adopted, the Ministry of Economy will redesign the existing relief measures and create new ones in consultation with all chambers of commerce and unions, according to Minister of Economy Kreshnik Bekteshi in response to reporters’ questions in Tetovo, news agency MIA informs.

Minister Bekteshi said he had been receiving letters from various business associations and was ready to meet them to discuss their proposals.

“Regarding the anti-crisis measures, we are waiting for the revised budget to be adopted,” Bekteshi said.

“Institutions are ready to face the crisis. I’ve been getting letters from chambers of commerce and various associations every day. Anyone interested in making a contribution can do so publicly, and of course we are always ready for meetings and detailed discussions.” Bekteshi also commented on VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski’s recent statement in which he offered elected officials help from the opposition amid the economic crisis.

“He said they wanted to get involved and contribute to dealing with the crisis, indirectly admitting that they have deliberately blocked our previous measures,” Bekteshi said.

“They’ve had the chance to contribute all this time,” he noted, adding that VMRO-DPMNE was now making the offer to only score political points. “No,” Bekteshi said. “The institutions are ready to face any crisis, be it a food, electricity, or heating crisis.”
