The Association of Ukrainians “Lesya Ukrainka” along with the diplomats from the Embassy near the Taras Shevchenko monument in the center of Skopje, held a joint action #StandWithUkraine.
The main purpose of the action was to demonstrate the cohesion and unity of Ukrainians around the world, the right of Ukraine to choose its own future.
The president of the Association, Аleksandar Urbanovich:
“Ukraine is at the front line of defending democracy and freedom. We call for a united front that will strive for the protection of joint European values and will remain determined to oppose the aggressor. Even when we are abroad, Ukraine remains in our hearts and we stand together with our homeland!”
The “Lesya Ukrainka” Association also sent an open letter to the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, urging them to give maximum support to Ukraine. “Considering that the Russian Federation has taken steps to destroy the Euro-Atlantic security architecture by brutally violating the basic norms of international law, we urge to take all possible measures to show the solidarity of North Macedonia with the Ukrainian people and to support the right to choose, each nation should choose its own future and decide for its own destiny.” – reads the statement of the Association of Ukrainians “Lesya Ukrainka”.
